Job Mandate
The Test Lead is responsible for leading and managing testing efforts, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and developing automation solutions for software testing. This role involves planning, executing, and monitoring test processes, mentoring team members, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the quality and reliability of applications.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Ensure adherence to SDLC and TSG Test Processes.
• Plan, control, and implement testing processes effectively.
• Define and monitor the execution of test tasks and activities.
• Manage test schedules, budgets, and overall testing efforts.
• Set and track quality metrics to ensure team performance.
• Conduct defect triage meetings and coordinate with developers on defect resolution.
• Monitors UAT Testing for defect leakages and drives investigation and root cause analysis whether defect should have been caught in their test stage scope
• Identify team skill gaps and define training needs.
• Mentor and coach team members on testing best practices and defect management.
• Monitor SIT Testing, investigate defect leakages, and conduct root cause analysis.
• Provide test guidance, coaching, and training to other testing teams.
• Create and implement a succession plan within the team.
• Work closely with developers, project managers, business contacts, and user representatives.
• Participate in requirements analysis to ensure testability.
• Produce detailed SDLC Artifacts like Test Plans, SIT Completion Reports, and Memos.
• Provide timely test execution status reports (Manual and Automation).
Test Automation & Execution:
• Design, develop, test, and maintain automated test scripts and test data.
• Execute automated scripts for Regression, Functional, and Non-Functional Testing.
• Communicate progress on Test Automation development.
• Provide support and documentation for automation processes.
• Advocate for test automation and support process improvements.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Bachelor’s degree relevant to the job
10 yrs. of experience in Software testing
3 yrs managing a Testing Team (min of 3 team members)
Ability to handle application testing independently or in a team.
Strong knowledge of manual and automation testing, including test strategy and execution.
Expertise in SDLC/STLC, functional and non-functional testing phases.
Excellent skills in documentation, reporting, presentation, and test automation strategy development.
Professional Certification & Licenses preferred: ISTQB CTFL, CTAL – TM, PMP, ITILV4, TMMI Professional
