Job Summary
Primarily responsible within reasonable latitude in ensuring that the bank will not be used as a channel to transmit funds from any unlawful sources yet mindful not to unnecessarily hinder legitimate transactions from passing through promptly. This shall be done by ensuring that transaction review, through name sanction screening, Covered Transaction verification, and transaction monitoring of cross-border remittances from various tie-ups, remittance agents, selected BDO Remit Offices and Subsidiaries processed through BDO Remit System (BRS) and Money Transfer System (MTS) are performed on a timely and proper manner and in compliance with legal regulations, internal policies, and industry standards. This includes timely submission of relevant reports and findings.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Operations Functions
- Manages day-to-day operations of the unit in accordance with legal regulations and internal Bank policies and procedures.
- Ensures that transaction review through name screening and transaction monitoring including related processes are performed on a timely and proper manner.
- Ensures that proper controls are in place.
- Acts quickly on production/system issues that will impact processing
- Preserves the integrity and confidentiality of transaction and client data; thus, avoiding unwanted disclosure of any information to third parties.
B. Administrative and Reportorial Requirements
- Maintains an organized and tidy work environment by overseeing the cleanliness of workspace, storage areas, and common areas.
- Ensures timely preparation of monthly schedule.
- Reviews and approves system access requests and monthly allowance claims.
- Reviews periodic administrative and compliance reports.
- Prepares, reviews, and submits reports required by BDO management and regulators on a timely manner.
- Provides support to Business Development Unit, BDO branches, tie-ups and remittance agents, and other Remittance and Head Office units.
C. Audit
- Ensures timely completion of request and reports related to any planned examination by the regulator (e.g. BSP), internal audit, and Independent Compliance Testing.
- Takes action in response to recommendations on audit findings.
- Ensure awareness on updated and relevant regulatory issuances.
D. Other Functions
- Perform other related functions that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree relevant to the job; preferably in Business, Law, Accounting or Finance
- At least 5 years of experience, preferably in: Remittance Business / Operations, Banking, Finance and/or Fintech, Transaction Review and Monitoring, Compliance, Data Analytics, Project Management
- Must be willing to work onsite and be assigned in Ortigas.
