Risk Management Officer

Department: 

Primarily responsible for conducting risk management services that includes, but not limited to risk engineering survey, operations risk review, enterprise risk management, business continuity management, and loss estimate analysis as required by BDOI marketing units or technical service unit (TSU).

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. Management Function

  1. Contributes to the development and sustenance of income generating opportunities, activities and initiatives.
  2. Ensures all engagements are aimed at achieving the team’s goals and objectives.
  3. Contributes in developing and/or enhancing the tools, templates, procedures, and the like for uniform implementation of strategic plans to achieve the team’s goals and objectives.
  4. Recommends and/or develop guidelines and procedures to improve on the team’s services and activities.
  5. Provides reports needed by Team Head or Unit Head for management related meetings.
  6. Develops the necessary competencies for career development.
  7. Complies with RM Manual, Broking Manual, Marketing Manual, BDO Insure guidelines and memos, Bank policies and the like.
  8. Reviews, recommends develops procedures in Risk Management Operations Manual that needs to be updated included enhanced or deleted.

 

B. Risk Management Services

  1. Contributes to expanding the risk management services enhance personal skills capabilities.
  2. Cascades to team learnings knowledge from external internal training attended from seminars information gathered
  3. Conducts internal training for development of technical competency peers
  4. Assists Marketing Units TSU Claims clients’ servicing requirements
  5. Provides timely feedback quality activities services Marketing Units TSU Claims Clients
  6. Prepares submit accurate timely technical reports individual technical reports required by clients
  7. Ensures all deliverables are met submission effectively
  8. Manages workload effectively coordinate with RM Manual Broking Manual Marketing Manual BDO Insure guidelines memos Bank policies

 

C. Strategy and Unit Development

  1. Recommends solutions to issues, concerns, problems encountered in the team.
  2. Monitors the effectiveness of existing policies and procedures and recommends to Unit Head:

2.1 Possible revisions and/or

2.2 New strategies.

  1. Ensures continuous development by participating in both in-house and external training.

 

D. Other Functions

  1. Prepares documentation and reports as required by other units or Unit Head.
  2. Performs other related functions/tasks as may be assigned by Unit Head or senior management from time to time.

 

JOB SPECIFICATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and/or Risk Management Degree or Training; or Equivalent technical hands-on experience
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in working directly or indirectly in insurance industry and conducting risk management related services and/or activities
  • Technical Skills: Excellent communication/negotiation skills, knowledgeable in various lines of insurance, presentation and planning skills, computer literate.
  • Behavioral Skills: Analytical, systematic, can work efficiently under pressure, independent, not afraid to accept greater responsibilities, eager to learn and acquire more knowledge in insurance and insurance developments/trends in the industry, can work adapt and relate to different kinds of people within and outside the working environment.
