JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Onboarding Lead is responsible for driving, managing, and continuously improving the organization's onboarding processes and experience across all levels, ensuring that new hires transition smoothly, efficiently and effectively in the organization.  His/Her role carries the strategic ownership, stakeholder leadership, process optimization, and governance accountability for onboarding for onboarding working closely with HR Business Partners, teams from Recruitment and Sourcing, and Data Management.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Onboarding Strategy & Governance

  • Design and implement the global/regional onboarding framework, ensuring consistency, compliance, and scalability across locations

  • Establish governance structures, SLAs, and KPls to monitor onboarding effectiveness and experience

  • Define onboarding success metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives

 

Operational Leadership

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the onboarding team, overseeing pre-employment checks, documentation, systems setup, orientation, and integration activities

  • Manage escalations and complex onboarding cases, ensuring prompt resolution and risk mitigation

  • Oversee vendor partnerships related to onboarding services (e.g., background checks, relocation, etc.)



Employee Experience Champion

  • Serve as the voice of the employee in designing onboarding touchpoints, ensuring a positive, engaging, and inclusive experience for all hires.=

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align onboarding with culture, values, and talent goals

 

Process & Technology Enablement

  • Drive process harmonization and automation across onboarding workflows

  • Partner with HR Technology and IT teams to optimize onboarding tools, platforms, and integrations (e.g., onboarding portals, digital forms, employee data systems)

  • ldentify and implement innovative solutions to improve efficiency and experience

  • Review and continuously enhance the onboarding process to support a positive engaging employee experience from pre-employment to actual onboarding



Stakeholder & Change Management

  • Act as the key point of contact for senior business leaders, HR stakeholders, and external partners on onboarding matters

  • Lead change management efforts related to onboarding policy, process, or technology changes

  • Provide leadership reporting, insights, and recommendations to HR and business executives



Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure all onboarding processes comply with legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements

  • Proactively identify risks and implement controls to safeguard employee and company interests

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Industrial Engineering or HR
  • 5 years of work experience in HR Operations, Employee Services, or Shared Services with a strong focus on onboarding

  • Proven leadership experience in managing high volume or complex HR processes

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior levels

  • Excellent project management, change management and process improvement capabilities

  • Familiarity with HRIs platforms (eg Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Darwin Box, etc) and digital onboarding tools
