Loan Officer

The Loan Operations Officer ensures the accurate, timely, and compliant execution of loan operations across transaction review and approval, loan servicing, documentation control, and administrative support. The role safeguards operational integrity by validating transactions, maintaining accurate system records, coordinating with internal units, and ensuring full adherence to bank policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and service level agreements (SLAs).
A. Loan Operations Management & Transaction Approval
- Review and verify the completeness and accuracy of loan transactions, records, documents, and reports.
- Ensure all loan payments, returned checks, and accounting entries are properly recorded and posted in ICBS and BCAS.
- Review and approve loan bookings, restructurings, redenominations, and related documents in compliance with approved terms, policies, and regulations.
- Authorize loan transactions within approved authority limits.
- Validate processors’ balancing reports and act as alternate processor when needed.
B. Loan Servicing
- Review the accuracy of loan statements, payment schedules, certifications, promissory notes, collateral release documents, and other loan records.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions in line with service level agreements (SLAs).
- Monitor and coordinate the reversal and handling of returned loan checks.
- Ensure timely and accurate remittances to BSP and other financing funders.
- Address inquiries and coordinate with account officers and other units regarding loan transactions.
C. Loan Operations Support Functions
- Serve as alternate control officer when required.
- Assist in resolving loan-related exceptions, float items, returned checks, and reconciliation issues.
- Monitor submission of Certificates of Creditable Withholding Tax (CWT) and follow up with account officers.
- Review daily BCAS entries and related reconciliations.
- Communicate new policies, procedures, and regulatory updates to the team.
- Participate in process improvement, automation, UAT, and efficiency initiatives.
- Address audit findings and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Attend coordination meetings and handle loan-related concerns and inquiries.
D. Administrative Functions
- Train and guide new staff on loan policies and procedures.
- Support performance evaluations and staff development.
- Exercise delegated approving authority.
- Safeguard and maintain assigned bank equipment and assets.
- Monitor progress of assigned projects and deliverables.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
