Job Summary

 

The Legal officer is responsible for the preparation of Petitions for Extra-Judicial Foreclosures (EJF), Writ of Possession (WOP) and handling of cases in courts and quasi-judicial agencies.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Prepares petitions for EJF and/or WOP.
  • Handles and represents the Bank in cases in court and quasi-judicial agencies in coordination with the business team.
  • Ensures the timely preparation and filing of complaints/petitions and other pleadings in courts/quasi-judicial agencies and employs measures and strategies approved by the Sections Head for the expeditious and favorable termination/resolution of cases.
  • Meets, coordinates and confers with the Section Head and business team for the legal and commercial strategies most appropriate to the cases / accounts.
  • Updates the Section Head, the business team and Unit Head on the status of cases pending in courts and quasi-judicial agencies.
  • Ensures the timely submission of status reports and legal assessments of the cases assigned to him/her for handling or monitoring.
  • Performs other tasks as may be assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Completed Bachelor of Laws / Juris Doctor and admission to the Philippine Bar
  • At least five years of litigation experience
  • Preferably with prior employment in a financial institution, including experience in loan documentation and administration
  • Willing to work onsite in Ortigas
