Job Description:

  • As a Defect Manager, you will be responsible for the comprehensive oversight of the defect lifecycle across all testing phases—System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Production (during warranty and hypercare support). This role ensures timely triage, resolution, and closure of defects, enforces compliance with defect SLAs, and drives continuous improvement through structured root cause analysis and trend monitoring. This position is distinct from other test roles by focusing exclusively on defect lifecycle management, escalation handling, and cross-phase defect traceability.

 

 

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure timely triage, assignment, resolution, retesting, and closure of defects across all test phases. Ensure timely triage, assignment, resolution, retesting, and closure of defects across all test phases—SIT, UAT, and Production (within warranty and hypercare)

  • Monitor and enforce adherence to standardized defect management processes and service-level agreements (SLAs), ensuring consistent execution across projects and programs

  • Serve as the escalation point for defect-related disputes and facilitate resolution through structured triage forums and cross-functional collaboration

  • Identify defect trends at the program level and recommend process or tooling improvements

 

 

 

 

Your Qualifications and Your Experiences should be

 

  • Holder of a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or any related field

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in test management and defect lifecycle management, preferably within high-profile or strategic programs/projects

  • Proven experience collaborating across cross-functional teams including QA, development, business analysts, and project managers

  • Hands-on experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, ALM, and Azure DevOps

  • Experience managing defects across multiple testing phases (SIT, UAT, Production) and environments
