Business Operational Risk Officer

Assists the Team Head in handling the administration of Operational Risk Management related activities. Act as Intermediary between BDO ORMU and BDOI Business Units. Assist, review and analyze reports submitted by the respected BDOI Business Units prior to endorsing for approval to BDOI Group Head and submission to BDO ORMU. This includes providing expert advice/guidance to BDOI Business Units in various Operational Risk Management reports, such as:
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
RISK AND CONTROL SELF ASSESSMENTS / KEY RISK INDICATORS:
- Ensures compliance of assigned BDOI unit to Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA) and Key Risk Indicator (KRI) requirements as mandated by the bank’s ORMU unit.
- In coordination with process owners, review periodically the appropriateness of RCSA / KRI and propose changes when necessary.
- Monitors and provides update/status of KRIs of various BDOI Business Units.
BUSINESS CONTINUITY PLANNING (BCP) AND RELATED TASKS:
- Coordinate with group’s BCP coordinators related to BCP.
- Participate in the reporting for all ORMU-initiated activities (call tree, bank-wide drill, tabletop).
- Consolidate and provide call tree reports.
- Attend all required trainings and meetings as mandated by ORMU.
- Maintain an updated database of BDOI Employees Contact Details in the form of the following documents:
- Call Tree Worksheet – This is a consolidated spreadsheet of every business unit showing a layered hierarchical communication model used to notify specific individuals of an event triggering the activation or deactivation of a BCP. The worksheet typically shows the contact uplines and downlines in every business unit for individual to be familiarized on who to contact in the event of a BCP scenario.
- Text Blast Worksheet – This is a spreadsheet consisting of a list of all BDOI employees with their corresponding mobile numbers. This worksheet is being submitted to ORMU to serve as source file in uploading employees’ contact numbers to our Bank-wide Text Blast Facility.
- Update the BDOI Employees Contact Details on a monthly basis. This activity is being coordinated to every unit’s BCP coordinator via email. Coordinators shall reflect any changes (i.e. changes in mobile numbers, employee transfer, resignation or addition of new personnel).
- Send the updated BDOI contact details to ORMU as required, prior to every scheduled BCP call tree test.
- Consolidate call tree test reports after every scheduled call tree test initiated internally or bankwide. The report is being submitted to ORMU upon completion.
INFORMATION SECURITY (INFOSEC):
- Facilitate completion of the access entitlement reviews (AER) for BDO-hosted applications and access review Self-Assessment (ARSA) for BU-managed applications.
- Participate in the completion of the IAI on an annual basis.
- Ensure 100% completion of BDOI employees on the required BISCUIT courses.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
- Performs other related functions/tasks as may be assigned from time to time by senior management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree holder
- 3 to 5 years related experience in an Insurance company or insurance related firm
- above average oral and written communication skills
- analytical, systematic
