Job Mandate

Reimagine the future of banking for BDO Customers by challenging and delivering exceptional Customer Centric User

Experience Designs while working closely with the different business units and providing them domain expertise on

User Experience Design in accordance with BDO’s Customer Experience Principles, BDO’s Branding Style Guides, BDO’s

Experience Guide and BDO Experience Design System.

Key functions include (i) being responsible for the project end-to-end from initiation phase to delivery phase within the

context of Experience Design deliverables – creations of designs, interactive prototypes, and handover documents, (ii)

provide UI and UX Design thought leadership, (iii) managing vendor relations, and (iv) managing EXD project team

members to achieve professional and career growths.

Duties and Responsibilities

UI and UX

1. Accountable in creating the necessary deliverables in accordance with the team’s practices and standards. These

deliverables are, but not limited to wireframes, high-fidelity screens, interactive prototypes and handover

documents.

2. Research and understand customer pain points, behavior, goals, and motivation to identify opportunities and areas

of improvement on the design level.

3. Understand business needs, goals, and motivation.

4. Confidently conduct workshops for brainstorming, ideation, synthesis and mapping, and translate these to strategic

design solutions.

5. Accountable in creating sketches, wireframes, and interactive design prototypes considering the information

architecture and user experience flows to clearly illustrate how functionalities and user experience work.

6. Pro-actively promotes customer-centric User Experience Designs.

7. Confidently conduct workshops for design clarification or validation sessions and presents designs to working team

while managing their expectations.

8. Conduct usability testing to validate prototypes as necessary.

9. Deliver and iterate designs given tight deadlines.

10. Manage design assets, version control, and documentation to maintain proper design governance.

11. Craft detailed and comprehensive handover documents for development teams to ensure design consistency based

on the best user experience possible while considering technology used, technical limitations and business

requirements.

12. Instill a strong UX mindset and passion for design advocacy, commit to UX/UI best practices, process improvements,

and share ideas and inspiration within the team.

13. Provides a strong User Experience and User Interface Design thought leadership.

14. Promote Design Thinking on the appropriate Product UI/UX based on the best user experience possible while

High-level Process

1. Manages, leads, and mentors a team of UI/UX designers, and provides strong both strategic and project appropriate

design approach.

2. Be responsible for the complete, quality and timely delivery of project deliverables for UI/UX Design tower from

initiation phase to delivery phase within the context of Experience Design deliverables.

3. Acts as the team’s champion in creating standards while considering best practices and applications to BDO use cases.

4. Effectively interact, collaborate, and establish sound working relationships with all stakeholders.

5. Provide support to the following (but not limited to) as needed:

a. Product and Marketing partners in conducting market and internal needs scanning to understand the pain

points of each target market

b. UAT Testing

c. In-Market testing such as Usability, FGD, Surveys.

d. Stakeholder testing

6. Ensures delivery and adherence to any established engagement model, strategies, and framework with EXD such as

but not limited to BDO Customer Experience Principles, BDO Branding Style Guide, and BDO Core Experience Guide

(design system).

7. Support the assigned Experience Design Lead and/or Project Lead in any other needed project specific, team#related, or ad-hoc tasks and deliverables.

8. Ensure delivery of all agreed Ad-hoc assignments assigned outside of EXD main deliverables.

9. Ensure adherence to any standard and framework established by the team, group, and the bank.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Education A graduate of BS in Design, Computer Science, Fine Arts, Psychology.

Certifications on UX/UI Design Courses (added points)

Work Experience At least 6 years of proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role.

Experience in the banking/financial services industry designs is a must.

Knowledge Area UI/UX Design, Customer Experience Design, Design Thinking, User-Centered

Design, or any relevant course

Skills

- Mastery in Design Thinking, Design Sprints, Human-centered Design or User#Centered Design is a must.

- Strong portfolio of UI/UX design projects is a must.

- Strong knowledge of design and prototyping tools (e.g. Adobe XD) and other

design software. (e.g. Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop)

- Some knowledge/ experience with HTML5 and CSS.

- Proficient in the use of presentation tools. (e.g. Powerpoint, Word, Excel)

- Excellent documentation skills.

- Good grasp of the English language in spoken and written form.

considerations.
