Job Summary:

 
The Test Lead is responsible for leading comprehensive manual and automated testing efforts across multiple projects. They will ensure software quality through test planning, execution, and automation while mentoring junior testers and driving continuous improvements. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality reliable software solutions.
 
 
Key Responsibilities:
 

Develop and Drive Test Strategies:
• Formulate comprehensive test strategies and plans, ensuring alignment with project timelines and business objectives.
• Define the overall testing scope for complex systems and provide strategic input on how best to balance manual and automated approaches.
• Lead test plan reviews and sign-off processes, ensuring thorough coverage of functional, non-functional, and regression testing needs.

 

End-to-End Test Management:
• Lead the creation, execution, and maintenance of test cases and test scripts, using a combination of manual and automation testing techniques to ensure high-quality delivery.
• Manage defect tracking, including triaging, debugging, and verification of defect resolution across multiple test environments.
• Drive continuous improvement of testing processes, identifying opportunities to optimize test automation frameworks and tooling.

 

Automation Strategy and Execution:
• Architect, design, and maintain automation frameworks, ensuring scalability, reusability, and integration with CI/CD pipelines.
• Execute automated regression, performance, and integration testing, including the evaluation of new tools to expand automation coverage and effectiveness.
• Provide leadership in transitioning manual test cases into automated tests, ensuring sustainable automation practices.

 

Mentorship and Collaboration:
• Mentor junior testers and QA team members, providing guidance on best practices in manual and automated testing.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with developers, business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure test cases reflect real-world usage scenarios.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for test execution across multiple projects, ensuring alignment on test objectives and timelines.

 

Test Reporting and Risk Analysis:
• Develop detailed test reports, including test coverage analysis, defect metrics, and recommendations for quality improvements.
• Perform risk-based testing and prioritize testing activities to ensure critical business functionality is validated on time.
• Communicate testing progress, risks, and outcomes to leadership teams, providing clear insights for go/no-go decisions.

 

Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
• Stay current with industry trends in test automation, continuously refining automation strategies and introducing new tools or methodologies.
• Foster a culture of quality by participating in code reviews, suggesting testability improvements, and advocating for early testing involvement in the development lifecycle.
• Take ownership of the test process for key projects, from requirements gathering through to production deployment, ensuring a strong partnership with development teams and business stakeholders.

 
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, IT, or related discipline preferred)
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in both manual and automation testing, with proven expertise in leading QA efforts for large, complex projects
  • Experience working across multiple projects and leading testing efforts from requirements gathering to final release
  • Must be willing to work onsite and be assigned in Makati/Ortigas
