JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Compliance Officer will oversee, coordinate and manage the implementation of the compliance program of the Bank which includes identification, monitoring and controlling of the compliance risk.  He/She will assist the Board and senior management in controlling and managing the compliance risks faced by the bank.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Compliance Risk Management

  1. Identifies regulatory matters and legislations; assess and monitor compliance risk

  2. Coordinates, recommends and/or develops policies and procedures to mitigate compliance risks

  3. Manages implementation of periodic testing for compliance Business / Support Units with regulatory matters and legislations

  4. Monitors and coordinates rectification of noted exposures to compliance risks

  5. Supports the Business / Support Units in initiatives to identify, monitor and control compliance risks in new products and services.

 

  1. Support, Communications and Advisory

  1. Ensures that the Business / Support Units are advised of new/amended regulations and legislations

  2. Provides guidance to Business / Support Units on regulatory matters

  3. Issues reminders to Business / Support Units on non-routine regulatory requirements or as needed

 

  1. Liaison with Regulators

  1. Manages and coordinates requirements during regulatory on-site review

  2. Monitors and tracks submission of response to regulatory requirements during on-site and off-site regulatory reviews

 

  1. Closely work with the Independent Compliance Testing Unit on identified engagements

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • With at least ten (10) years banking experience ideally with exposure to treasury operations/financial instruments
  • At least five (5) years experience in regulatory compliance preferrably in Treasury, Market, and Liquidity compliance matters
