Junior Analyst

JOB SUMMARY
He/She will support lending decisions and credit risk management by providing forward-looking sector insights. His/Her focus is on analyzing industries and identifying how evolving sector conditions impact the creditworthiness of companies operating within them.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Industry Research
- Produce industry assessments (IS), risk maps and thematic outlooks
- Analyze structural drivers, business cycles, cost dynamics, competitive environment, and policy/regulatory changes
- Identify sector risk transmission channels to borrowers (earnings stress, supply-chain risk, capex cycles, liquidity pressures, etc.)
- Track pricing, demand/supply trends, and macro-industry linkages
2. Data/Reference Maintenance
- Develop and regularly update a centralized reference for industry classification, industry benchmarks, and relevant performance metrics datasets.
- Standardize and periodically review analytical frameworks/models/procedures/templates for industry analysis
- Monitor crucial developments affecting industries (regulatory, market, and macroeconomic)
3. Portfolio Exposure & Early-Warning Monitoring
- Support setting and periodic review of industry risk appetite/exposure guidelines
- Identify and flag industries with declining fundamentals/elevated credit risks
- Monitor the bank’s exposure by industry/sub-industry
- Maintain industry risk scorecards, heat maps, and Early Warning System indicators
- Participate in discussions on industries with rising credit stress signals
4. Internal Coordination and Other Responsibilities
- Respond to queries relating to industry context and risks
- Present findings as needed to stakeholders
- Perform other related duties that may be assigned from time to time
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree relevant to the job; strong preference for economics and business-related courses
- At least two years-experience in industry research, equity research, or economic/sector analysis
- Strong understanding of industry structure, earnings and cost drivers, supply-chain and competitive dynamics, regulation, and macro linkages that influence credit risk and borrower performance.
