Institutional Sales Officer

The Institutional Sales Officer (ISO) will collaborate closely with the Head of Institutional Sales (HoIS) to market BDO Securities’ capital markets services to both existing and prospective domestic and foreign institutional investors, high-net-worth individuals, and retail investors. This collaboration will be instrumental in achieving the Institutional Sales unit’s budget. The role involves cultivating and maintaining relationships with both new and existing local and foreign institutional clients, crucial to the achievement of targets set for the year. The ISO will facilitate coordination between BDO Securities and BDO Unibank’s various units to deliver these services and solutions to clients, thereby contributing to the team’s overall success. The ISO will ensure compliance with institutional investors and corporate clients’ initial accreditation and accreditation renewal requirements. The ISO will assist the HoIS in developing and implementing marketing plans and programs that promote BDO Securities’ services and products. This includes organizing corporate access events, client meetings, and strategy presentations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the formulation and implementation of overall marketing plans and strategies, in coordination with the Traditional Trading, Digital Trading, Research and the Institutional Sales Teams, to generate continuous transaction flows from existing and new clients for implementation by concerned units of BDO Securities
- Grow foreign and local institutional client base through client calls or marketing trips/visits
- Do daily client calls and provide trading and investment advice to institutional clients to deepen and further develop relationships with existing clients and promote BDO Securities as their preferred securities broker
- Solicit trades and generate trade tickets from institutional clients by promoting research team’s or analysts’ reports, company notes, etc.
- Develop relationships with existing clients through constant client engagement and entertainment (lunch, dinner/cocktails)
- Organize or facilitate corporate access events and meetings for clients like strategy/market outlook briefings, sector/company calls, site visits, etc.)
- Promote Research team’s products by arranging or setting up meetings between analysts and clients
- Cross-sell BDO Capital and BDO Unibanks’ products and services
- Represent BDO Securities in investor industry associations and networking events/functions (like Fund Managers’ Association of the Philippines and Trust Officers Association of the Philippines and other similar events or functions)
- Performs other functions that may be assigned from time to time by the President and/or the Board of Directors, and Head of Institutional Sales
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree holder
- Experience in institutional sales, securities brokerage is an advantage
- Basic or in depth understanding of capital market products and solutions, trading rules, regulations and processes
Interested candidates must be willing to work onsite daily in Ortigas/Makati.
