JOB SUMMARY:

The Data Privacy Manager shall assist the Data Protection Officer (DPO) in ensuring the compliance of the business units with applicable laws and regulations for the protection of data privacy and security.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist the DPO in ensuring compliance with the Data Privacy Act (DPA) of 2012, its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR), various issuances by the National Privacy Commission (NPC), and other relevant privacy laws.

2. Continuously raise privacy awareness by building a robust Privacy Management Program that will guide the Bank in its compliance journey with DPA and the Commission.

3. Review and monitor the submission Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) by the relevant business units relative to privacy risk mitigation and controls. 

4. Discuss the identified privacy risks and controls with the concerned business unit.

5. Review Data Sharing or Data Outsourcing Agreement from different business units

6. Initiate timely and proper management of security or breach incidents as reported by the business unit 

7. Assist in cultivating data privacy and protection awareness across the organization by developing and conducting training, seminars & workshops 

8. Represent the DPO and organization in various NPC gatherings, meetings and fora.

9. Perform other relevant duties and tasks that may be assigned to further demonstrate the organizational commitment to data privacy & protection, data subject rights, and reportorial compliance pertaining to data privacy.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree relevant to the job
  • 5 years of data privacy working experience specific to banking or financial industry
  • Privacy certifications from known Privacy Training Agencies (e.g., UA&P, UP OU, RL TC, AIM, TuV, NADPOP, etc.) are an advantage
  • Knowledge in NPC recent Circulars and Advisories, Privacy Impact Assessment, Security and Breach Incident Reporting, Data Sharing and Outsourcing/Agreement, among others.
