The role conducts comprehensive customer and transaction assessments, identifies unusual or potentially suspicious activities, coordinates information requests, and prepares well-supported investigation findings for escalation, closure, or Suspicious Transaction Report (STR) assessment. The position ensures compliance with AML/CFT regulations, internal policies, and regulatory expectations while maintaining high-quality, regulator-defensible case documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, investigate, document, and recommend disposition of AML transaction monitoring alerts and cases within prescribed timelines.
  • Conduct holistic customer reviews covering KYC information, source of funds, transaction behavior, account relationships, counterparties, and customer profile alignment.
  • Analyze transactions to identify unusual patterns, red flags, suspicious activities, and AML typologies requiring escalation or further investigation.
  • Prepare clear, complete, and evidence-based investigation reports, narratives, and recommendations.
  • Initiate and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) with branches, business units, and relevant stakeholders to obtain supporting information.
  • Ensure all investigations are supported by complete documentation, audit-ready working papers, and defensible evidence.
  • Escalate suspicious activities, material issues, data concerns, documentation gaps, and other investigation risks in a timely manner.
  • Support STR assessment, regulatory examinations, audits, quality reviews, and management reporting requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with AML/CFT laws, regulations, internal policies, and transaction monitoring procedures.
  • Contribute to process improvements by identifying recurring trends, control gaps, false positives, and monitoring system enhancements.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in AML, Compliance, Financial Crime Investigation, Fraud Risk, Audit, Risk Management, Banking Operations, or related functions.
  • Knowledge of AML/CFT regulations, suspicious transaction monitoring, KYC/CDD processes, and financial crime typologies.
  • Experience conducting investigations, transaction reviews, case analysis, or regulatory compliance assessments.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify suspicious patterns and assess risks.
  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills, particularly in preparing investigation reports and case narratives.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases, prioritize workload effectively, and meet strict regulatory deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and AML transaction monitoring or case management systems.
  • High level of integrity, sound judgment, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
  • Must be willing to work onsite and be assigned to Makati.
