Credit Officer
Davao City, Davao Region, PH
This position helps minimize the Bank’s credit risk and contributes to cards issuing business profitability through:

Applying underwriting fundamentals and existing credit policy and guidelines to evaluate applicants risk and acceptability of credit card and personal loan applications

Achieving established individual objectives and targets; consequently, contributing to the Team’s overall objectives and targets.
Duties and Responsibilities
A. Credit Evaluation/Decision and Quality
1. Ensures that the following stages were performed:

Pre-screening e.g. address is within the BDO trading area, age requirement etc.

System/ Duplicate checking (EAS/Cadencie/ICBS).
-
Negative and Positive File Checking ( BAP/NFIS/NLDS/PEP/Fraud/Credit Bureau/ATA file).

Phone verification or confirmation call out/ credit investigation (as needed).

Signature verification (if applicable)ADB computation (if applicable).

2. Evaluates applications based on available data, file-matching results and verified information.
3. Renders appropriate credit decisions based on credit policy.
4. Identifies deviation and seeks approval of higher Credit authority (if applicable).
5. Updates/checks the accuracy of the data encoded in the system prior to system confirmation of applications.
B. MIS Tracking
1. Prepares and submits timely and accurate Daily Productivity Report, Timeliness Report and other relevant mis.
2. Consolidates Productivity reports on a daily/monthly basis.
3. Prepares MIS reports of certain program for monitoring (when necessary).
C. Other Functions

Coordinates processed applications and MIS with Head Office (as applicable) within the agreed Turn-Around Time (applicable for PBC Credit Officer).

Coordinates with sales and other PBC teams for application status, gathering of requirements and other clarifications relevant to the decisions process.

Ensures timely response to Quality Review findings.

Ensures proper safekeeping of documents in a locked cabinet or secured storage area.

Participates in the system enhancement activities (when necessary).

Recommends process enhancements for efficient service and to improve TAT.

Performs other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time according to established productivity , service quality standards and unit requirements.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Education : Bachelor's degree relevant to the job
Work Experience : Minimum of 2 years experience in retail credit review, covering the area of Application, Processing and Evaluation. Knowledge Area :Good understanding of basic credit card system/solutions. Must be able to comfortably interface with internal and external units such as Sales, Other PBC teams, IT/Systems Support and third party service providers. Skills : Problem solving and decision making skills, communication skills, organizational skils, conflict management skills, data analysis skills and computer literate.
