Department: 

Responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and controlling the activities of Accounting Department and Human Resource (HR) related matters. Acts as the control officer of the branch, responsible for the maintenance of book of accounts, preparation and timely submission of required reports in accordance with the relevant regulatory requirements and the bank’s policies and procedures.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervises the daily operations of Accounting Department. Conducts monthly review of all outstanding items of the following sensitive accounts to ensure that they are being properly recorded and followed up for liquidation/resolution. Oversees the preparation and submission of reports to Hong Kong and Philippine regulators, Branch management, concerned branch and head office units, Hong Kong government units and Internal and External auditors. Handles the preparation of the annual budget of the branch and monthly branch financial performance. Responsible for the implementation of Audit rectifications within the department. Handles the submission of Audit reports and Tax Return in coordination with external auditors as required by regulatory authority and tax government respectively. Ensures processing of branch expenses, fixed assets and supplies purchases are in accordance with the Bank’s policies and procedures. Handles submission of Annual Return, renewal of annual business permit and branch required insurance coverages. Performs the checking of daily updating of information/data maintained in the OPICS system.
  2. Supervises the daily operation of Human Resources. Coordinates with Head Office Human Resources on the monthly payroll, MPF contributions, payroll deductions, available leaves, renewal of Group Life Insurance and Medical Insurance, annual salaries tax return, recruitment of branch personnel. Handles enrollment of and cancellation of the Group Life Insurance and Medical insurance of new and resigned employees respectively. Prepares various surveys to Census Department. Monitors and controls outsourcing activities.
  3. Ensures adherence to regulations of Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Anti-Money Laundering Council and other pertinent government agencies. Ensures that branch policies, procedures and controls related to accounting transactions are in accordance with Philippines and Hong Kong accounting standards. Ensures that bank policies, procedures and controls are strictly followed by designated personnel to attain an acceptable Audit rating.
  4. Ensures the branch HR guidelines are complete and updated in compliance with HO-HR policies and HK laws. Ensures the private information/data of all branch personnel are kept in accordance with HO-HR policies and HK laws. Ensures the Chief Executive and HO-HR are updated on new/revised HK-related circulars, laws, etc.
  5. Attends to Accounting administrative-related matters such as the conduct of regular operations meetings, branch upkeep, implementation of duties and responsibilities of the accounting personnel. Handles manpower issues, initiates personnel movements, career planning and development of branch personnel under his unit.
  6. Performs other duties assigned from time to time.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree holder
  • At least five (5) years experience in administration in the banking industry or any financial institution, preferably in branch operations
  • Preferably with experience in banking operations
  • Analytical, systematic, can work under pressure, independent, can multi-task, able to balance/prioritize workload
