Account Officer

BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible in the marketing activities of assigned BDO branches. Ensures productivity of assigned BDO branches through constant coordination. Responsible in new business development and total account management of retail and corporate accounts handled.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
A. Sales / Client Servicing
1. To create new business pipelines through branches and client relationship building.
2. To entertain calls, requests for quotations, endorsements and policies and other inquiries from clients / BBG and/or other units.
3. To visit, coordinate and communicate with BBG to discuss and implement sales strategies and satisfy client servicing requirements.
4. To monitor status of accounts in the pipeline and to prepare strategies to convert/renew said accounts.
5. To discuss with Technical Services Unit the most appropriate terms and conditions that suits the client needs, to aid them in their negotiation with insurance companies.
6. To assist clients with Accounting or Claims concerns and to coordinate with respective BDOI units.
7. To assist in conducting property risk management / survey with coordination with the insurance company and/or in-house risk inspector.
8. To assess potential for organic growth of existing portfolio and work on growing the portfolio.
9. To cross-sell other insurance products to increase production.
10. To send list of renewal accounts to assigned branches and ensure renewal of accounts.
11. To ensure all unrenewed accounts be sent with Non-renewal letter (NRL).
12. To exercise professionalism and optimum customer satisfaction at all times.
B. Account Administration
1. To prepare necessary requests (i.e. Automated Request Form [ ARF], Refund/Manual Adjustment Form [MAF] ) to initiate proper actions by Processing Unit.
2. To prepare quotation and proposal slip based on the branch/bank unit requirements.
3. To ensure that policies and endorsements are issued and released to clients within prescribed turnaround time (TAT).
4. To assist in the monitoring and application of unapplied payments, booking of accounts, transmittal of SOAs and adjustments/cancellation of policies to BDO branches/units or clients.
C. Other Administrative Functions
1. To follow agreed broking procedures and/or specific work instructions in handling new business and renewals.
2. To ensure the timely and accurate submission of reports pertinent to Marketing.
3. Releases policies to clients in a timely manner as required by the BDOI Broking Manual
4. To comply with the broking procedures, ensure proper monitoring and filing of submitted policies, maintain low unapplied payment levels, and assist in the monitoring of Accounts Receivables/Collections.
5. To perform other duties as may be assigned by immediate superior or senior management from time to time.
